Volunteer Application Process, Rules, and Details
Volunteers need only to possess creativity, respectfulness, dedication, and an enthusiasm to help create a one-of-a-kind community event. The jobs aren’t too difficult, the perks are pretty cool, and the event will be a lot of fun!
Since Twin Tiers Comic-Con is a two-day event, it allows us to provide volunteers with a variety of options to help our show succeed. Volunteer work shifts can generally be divided into four categories:
-
Street & Social Media Team
-
Set-up & Tear-down
-
Half-day (4-5hrs)
-
Full-day (8-10rs)
Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age to be considered for a volunteer position.
Note: if you are under 18-years-old, your Volunteer Application MUST include:
-
Signature from your parent or guardian in order to be approved as a volunteer for our show.
-
Two letters of recommendation from a current employer or community leader that you have worked or volunteered for within the last 12 months (examples: teacher, guidance counselor, case worker, work supervisor, church leader, community leader)
Once your application is processed, you will receive an email from the Volunteer Coordinator where you will be asked to confirm your intent to volunteer. If you do not reply and confirm by the due date assigned, your name will be taken off the volunteer list and you will be required to re-apply. This is to help prevent no-shows on the week of the show.
New Volunteers must attend at least ONE of our Volunteer Orientation Meetings to be held at Checkpoint Gaming Lounge in the Arnot Mall, Big Flats, NY (Dates and times TBD). The orientation meeting will provide us the ability to introduce ourselves and our show, take you on a brief tour of the venue, discuss job duties, and schedule your volunteering shift. Any Volunteer who requests a position and does NOT appear for an orientation meeting without prior approval, WILL NOT be granted a volunteer shift during the event, and WILL NOT receive any of the Volunteer Benefits.
Community Organizations hosting a volunteer at Twin Tiers Comic Con must have a representative present and available during the volunteer shifts of their members, including Volunteer Orientation Meetings.
